I am registered as a sole trader called Alison Proofreader.  I offer a bespoke proofreading service.  My policy describes how I protect and make use of the information on my website.  Information provided will only be used in ways stated in this policy.

Why do I collect data?


I gather information about you in order to:
 

  • respond to your requests

  • allow me to contact you during a proofreading project

  • enable certain functions on my website

  • for me to better understand how visitors use my website


I collect the following information from my contact form and a sign up to my blog:

  • your enquiry

By entering your information into my contact form you are giving consent for me to contact you.  You can withdraw your consent at any time.  Your consent will be stored on my website analytics with Wix.

I will never use this data for marketing purposes without getting your permission first. 

How do I use cookies?


A cookie is a small file placed on your computer’s hard drive that enables my website to identify your computer as you view different pages.  I use cookies for web analytics using ​Google Analytics.  Cookies do not provide me with access to your computer or any other information about you.

I will never lease, distribute or sell your information to third parties unless you give me written permission to do so, or I am required to do so by law.  You can ask me to remove your data at any time and you have the right to lodge a complaint.

How long do I keep your data for?

 

  • HMRC requires me to keep records for at least 5 years after the submission of my self assessment tax return.
